
Have we Lost our Joy?
Text:
CIT: Paul stated to conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel!
Proposition: We must conduct ourselves in a way that is worth of the Gospel
Objective: The main objective of the sermon is bring the congregation to a point where they are think about there walk with Christ.
INTRODUCTION
1.) Paul stated that he was going to rejoice in his time of trial. Do we rejoice in the face of despair? We must turn to prayer and the word of God to sustain our perseverance in times of trouble and hardship.
2.) We must make up our mind what it is that we are going to live for. Those who proclaim the name of Jesus must not grow weary, but strive to spread the Gospel. The promotion of Gods word through the proclamation of his name was the primary concern for the Apostle Paul.
3.) Have you suffered recently for the sake of Christ? Paul felt that it was an honor to have laid his life on the line for presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Have you ever had the honor of truly standing for Jesus?
Our Joy in Christ comes when we:
I. We preserver for the cause of Christ v-18b-22
a. Perseverance through Perspective (Rejoice)
b. Perseverance through Prayer
c. Perseverance through Promise
II. We purposely live for the case of Christ v-23-26
a. Purposely living for the Present
b. Purposely living for the Progress (Of the Gospel)
c. Purposely living for the Promotion (Of the Gospel)
III. We Perform (Operate/Behave – Verb) as Christians for the charge of Christ v.27-30
a. Perform as Christians for the Presentation of Christ (Gospel)
b. Perform as Christians for the Perfect unity in Christ
c. Perform as Christians for the Price paid by Christ
CONCLUSION
1.) The Apostle Paul gave all he had to further the story of the Gospel. He would have much rather died and been with Christ, but his heart burned for those who did not know Jesus on earth. His work was not done.
2.) Are you focused on your walk with Christ? Are you persevering, purposeful living, and performing for the savior that gave his life for you? Are you truly walking with Christ?
